Outcome 5: Writing and Power
Students will be able to critically examine and act on the relationship among identity, literacy, language, and power.
Reflection
This outcome is saying that students are able to understand and write using power, language, literacy, and identity. I believe I met this outcome because, in my second major assignment, my professor asked us to challenge a writing construct and persuade her to either keep or revise it. I wrote about in-text citations, defending why in-text citations are important to all writings. This shows the power I have when writing, trying to persuade my audience using language on why in-text citations are so important. I understood that the main goal was to defend the construct using proper citations and language. So the artifact shows the power I have, using language to persuade others to believe my opinion.
